August 2010
Sunday, August 29
Afternoon in the Garden and Workshop at the home of Lindley McPhail and Denis Morin, 776 Hamilton Road, Russell. “Preserving the Harvest” – freezing, drying, canning – how do you do it? Come on out for 3pm for talks and demonstrations as well as some hands-on experience. BBQ to follow. Cost is $15 per person. Please bring either a salad or a dessert and your own beverage.

Bird watching, feeding and preparing for winter by a noted bird watching enthusiast.

Annual General Meeting with the theme “Getting ready for Christmas” starts at 6:30pm with a potluck supper. Learn about the care of amaryllis, poinsettias and paper whites by Pegi Holtz; decorating tips by Louise Houle; Christmas wreaths by Marilyn MacMillan; and a photo contest where all photos are to be 4”x6” and mounted on 6”x8” bristle board and the categories are:
